NON-EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS
Always make sure you have an MSDS sheet on-site for any liquid/cream/gel product you are using. Request this from the manufacturer.
LASHES ARE TOO CURLED:
Check out the photo above where a client came in with overly curled lashes from a bad lash lift and we relaxed the lift.
HOW TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING:
- Only apply the lift to the base of the lash line to the middle of the lash.
- Use the proper rod size for their lash length.
PROBABLE CAUSE:
- You applied the solution to too much of the lash and too close to the tip of the lash. See the photo below of what NOT to do!
WHAT TO DO IF THIS OCCURS:
- Follow the relaxing protocol.
- Advise the client to not to get another lash lift for at least 12 weeks to fully let their lashes recover.
LASHES ARE FRIED:
HOW TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING:
- Only perform a lash lift on a client every 6 weeks at a minimum. If you perform this service again, less than 6 weeks from the last time, you run a high risk of over-processing.
- Follow the product manufacturer’s recommended times and do not leave on longer.
- Weak lashes and blonde lashes require less processing time.
PROBABLE CAUSE:
- You performed another lash lift less than 6 weeks from the last one.
- You left the solution on too long for that person’s lash strength.
WHAT TO DO IF THIS OCCURS:
- There isn’t a lot you can do once the lashes are over-processed.
- Recommend the person use a lash serum to speed up the growth and shed cycle.
- The person will have to wait out the shed cycle which could be up to 12 weeks.
